Description
Bay ceramic pottery 1933-1980s was founded by Eduard Bay and based in Ransbach Baumbach in the main West German pottery producing region. Bodo Mans was amongst their most famous designers.
Nice rich red band sometimes known as fat lava due to the shape and dripping texture.In this case the red area is more defined, some sources say this red is known as Gotland glaze, and dates c1968. Unable to find definitive sources.
good condition,
no cracks or chips apparent, rings true when tapped.
Reflective glazes are awkward to photograph accurately,
reflections seem to go hand in hand with accurate colour reproduction.
